Volunteer for Wellesley Admissions by Interviewing Prospective Students here in Vermont

Vermont Wellesley Club

Dear [first_name],

Help Admissions, Volunteer for Wellesley, and Interview Prospective Students here in Vermont

It's that time of year that prospective students are applying for admission to Wellesley and asking for interviews. Volunteering as an alumnae interviewer is a great way to get involved, as much, or as little as you like. We need them all around the state.

I have found in the last couple of years that sitting down to have a chat with a young woman interested in Wellesley is a wonderful way to be hopeful about the future! Please consider signing up. Feel free to email me at lisa.brucken@gmail.com (I am the AAR aka Alumnae Admissions Representative in Vermont) with questions. Or just click on the link to register.

Please note that you need to register each year, so if you have done this in the past you need to register again. Here is the link: https://admission.wellesley.edu/register/newvolunteer

Thank you for the consideration!

Five College Book Sale raises $12,500 for Wellesley!

The Five College Book Sale leaders met recently to debrief the successes of the 2018 sale and to begin planning for 2019.  Key dates to remember:

Book Donations will be accepted March 5-April 10

Wellesley's sort day will be on April 6

Sale will be held April 20-21 in Lebanon NH

For our bookloving siblings who wish to donate books: the organizers and volunteers have requested that donators be very conscious of the quality of books delivered --- each year there are still many books to sell at the end and the remainder goes to one buyer "for peanuts."  They put a large amount of "dirty, moldy, smelly, torn books" straight into a dumpster and those books never go into the sale. They also do not accept Romance, Time-Life, nor Encyclopedias.

Please be discerning when deciding which books to donate to the sale.

Thank you!

Every woman can—and should—make a meaningful contribution to her world. There is a growing recognition that women's empowerment and leadership are crucial to their own advancement, and to worldwide societal change. Wellesley and its alumnae have supported and championed women's intellectual and social development and autonomy for over 100 years.
